SPAN
The Student Political Advocacy Network (SPAN) Coordinator, Nick Ladell, is the political liaison between our WSPS chapter and our parent organizations (PSW, ASHP, and APhA). He receives updates from offices in Washington D.C. regarding any legislation that is in the House or Senate on issues relating to pharmacy. He is a voting member the ASHP-ASP house of delegates making our chapter’s voice heard at the national level. Every year the SPAN coordinator coordinates the PSW legislative day encouraging students and other practicing pharmacists to bring a politician to learn more about pharmacy and pharmacists’ ever expanding role. For this coming year WSPS hopes to bring in political speakers from local and national levels to address pharmacy students and faculty on current politics. Overall, the aim is to increase student political awareness and involvement in the government systems that regulate our profession. If you have any questions or would like Nick to look into a political healthcare topic he would be more than happy to do so.
